👋 Hello! I’m Ken (Yongkin), a master’s student in Computer Engineering at University of California, San Diego, and previously earned my bachelor’s at Tsinghua University.
My journey has been shaped by experiences in Singapore 🇸🇬, Malaysia 🇲🇾, China 🇨🇳, and Japan 🇯🇵, where I’ve worked at Amazon AWS as a software engineer intern, and at LP-Research as a developer. Currently, I’m diving into backend engineering, AI/ML, and HCI, with a focus on leveraging technology to better assist people.
In my professional journey, I’ve contributed in several impactful ways:
-
Deep Learning Infrastructure: Revamped the docker image build engine, reducing build time by 20% and subsequent builds by 90%, driving core systems powering global AI/ML workloads and team releases.
-
Large-Scale VR: Developed LPVR-AIR, a multi-user VR system deployed across multiple design centers and showcased at SIGGRAPH 2023, enhancing VR’s modularity and network communication.
-
Open-Source Sensor Library: Core maintainer of OpenZen, an open-source sensor library for streaming data, with implementations supporting diverse projects in edge computing.
-
Decentralized Finance Platform: Led the development of a decentralized trading platform, designing scalable backends, optimizing state management, and coordinating cross-functional teams to align with key business goals.
More details are available on my CV.
I’ve also held leadership roles in eCommerce and hackathon projects. Check out my projects page for a closer look at my work.
